Question
Hello,we got a baby ball on Feb 1 he was about 16 inches now (3 months later) he is 27 inches. The pet shop said he ate 3 fuzzies a week.So we fed him that all of feb.and moved up to 2 mice a week for march and april, the pet shop said to try 3 and see if he eats them,he did once and only ate 1 the following week then 2 and back to 1 this week is this normal he was so regular with eating he looks fine and is passing stool normaly it seems he is getting less active as he grows.he shed feb 26 second was 23 days later third was 46 days later.Does this cycle seem normal? An my last Q is, Going buy his size when we got him (16)in and his size now 3 months later (27)in can you give us an idea on his age.Sorry for all the Q but he is our first I was realy wanting and hoping he was a female but now wouldn't trade him for anything? Thanks Marsha

Answer
Hi Marsha.  The cycle you are seeing in your ball is normal. I  also recommend going down to one mouse a week.  You were really feeding too much despite what the pet store told you. And by his length he is reaching adulthood.  Adults range in length from 3 to over 6 feet with the average female reaching 3 to 5 feet and the average male 2-3 feet. A mature female will commonly grow distinctly larger than the male. Hope this helped and thanks for writing :-)
