Question
Well this may seem a bit silly of a question ,but I have wondered about it for a while ...I was driving in Alberta and I saw what I thought was a branch lying accross 1/2 of the narrow road ,so I slowly drove around it and as I did this brach "stood up",to my shock I was looking over at a bull snake whos "tail end" had been run over ,it bothered me that I was too afraid of it to help it.But I have wondered over the years ,is it possible that the snake could have dragged itself off of the road and if it did ,is it possible that it could have survived?

Answer
I suppose it would matter how much had been run over.  If it was just the tip it might have made it, if however it was say the lower 1/4 to 1/3 probably not.  He would just slowly bleed to death.  If the tail was actually stuck to the road, then not only would he have been bleeding but also he'd have had heat stroke to worry about.  Sad story!  Next time, if it safe, stop assess and remedy (one way or the other).
