Question
Hello again

I heard plastic shoe boxes work for hatchlings...how long can a hatchling stay in these? right now my two hatchlings I have are in ten gallon tanks with screen lids but those take alot of room they don't use ie height...and I am getting two more hatchlings in a few weeks and would like to keep them in plastic shoe boxes Also I have one question that I can't find the answer to anywhere...can the exo terra Stick on heat pads be used with rubbermaid bins if they are kept at a safe 83/85 F. via a temp controler?   Could one put tin foil on one side and then stick it on using electrical tape that way the pad could be removed??????????????? Thank you for your time.

Answer
Yes, small plastic shoe boxes work well for hatchlings until they are about a year old. You do have to be careful with the heating. I would suggest using a thermostat for controlling the temp. There are several nice pre-made racks for hatchlings that you can buy with heating already installed. It's much easier and safer than doing it yourself.
