Question
hello i have two corn snakes one is an adult or semi-adult that's about 4 feet and thick and another snake that is younger, smaller, skinnier, that's about 3 feet and narrow and i love them both. But when i went to the pet store to get some mice i saw a beautiful apricot pueblan milk snake. I did some research and found that they are pretty good pets but can sometimes eat other snakes. So i wanted to know if you have any experience with pueblan milk snakes and if you liked them or not and are they easy to handle. And if you would recommend one for me for my situation. Also if i do get one do you think i should definitely house the snake separately. thank you

Answer
Hi Jay,
Sounds like you have the bug. First it is one snake, then two, then you end up like me with a reptile room and 20 snakes (I once had 32 total). Milk snakes are placid by nature and are generally good pets. I would house them separately. It is generally not a good idea to house snakes together, so make sure you have the room and the setup to give to another snake. One thought, all of your snakes are colubrids. Think about branching out a little and getting a python. Look into a Savu or a Mackliot's; something to push your snake fetish a little. Also look into a Hogg island boa if you want a small snake that will be challenging.
