Question
Hi kevin, i have just acquired my first snake, it is a 3 month old ball python; and i'm looking for advice on the best enclosure, bedding, heating, etc, I live in Scotland in the UK, regards allison

Answer
Any enclosure will do as long as it is easy to maintain and it needs to be at least 2' X 3' X1.5' or larger. For heating, go with a cobra under the tank heater and a heat lamp on that side (provides a hot side and a cool side. For substrate, use cypress, coconut, or aspen. All work well, but coconut is probably the best if you can afford it. I have a lot of snakes, so I use cypress which also works well.
