baby corn snake not eating

Question
I went and got a baby cornsnake from a breeder we have had it for 2 weeks now and I can not get it to eat. We have gone through 3 different pinkies and it will not eat. It was eating pinkie frozen and live before we got it. What can I do? I've tried letting the pinkie in overnight, dangly it in front of the snake, and I am currently on the covering up the tank trick what else can I try? How long can a baby go without eating?

Answer
What does the breeder you bought it from say?  That would be my first stop.

Next, this is gross-get ready, you'll need to "brain the pinkie."  Take the pinkie and cut the top of it's head open...  I told you it was gross.  Then just put the pinkie and the snake in a small container.  That does the trick 98% of the time.

If that doesn't work, buy an adult mouse, this is gross-get ready, and cut off it's tail or at least 3/4 of it.  Take the blunt end (big end) and use it to pry open the snakes mouth and then slide as much of it down the snake's throat as possible, set the snake down and walk away.  Because the hairs face the other direction, it is very difficult for the snake to throw that tail up, they usually just swallow it down, and then they USUALLY take the next meal.  If not do it all over again...  Good Luck!
