Husbandry & care of a Yemen chameleon

Question
Dear Pam,
I am a first time buyer of a Yemen Chameleon but feel that i have done enough research to successfully be able to care for the cham with a helping hand here and there.
The question i would like to ask is what type of flexarium would be suitable for a juvenile yemen? (2months old)
I have recentley purchased a 100gallon flexarium but feel that this is far too big for a young chameleon.
Also could you tell me which live foods are best for the cham, which vitamin suppliments are best and how often to use these?
Ive read numerus forums about this but i feel to confused now. Some people suggest using Vitamins with D3 as well as some without D3 and use herptitive.
But how often do i use these for a 2month old chameleon?

Many thanks

Richard

Answer
Use of a smaller mesh cage might be good especially for a baby to get to food easily.  If you are handy, closing off sections temporarily with screening can do that without the expense of a second smaller habitat.

They need a basking level of at least 90 to 95 F with cooler areas to thermoregulate and they need a good source of UVB, either a fluorescent tube or a mercury vapor bulb.  Do not use a coil or compact bulb, this has caused eye damage and death in various species of reptiles.

Repcal Calcium with D3 is best for indoor habitats, used every other day for babies, coating their first dozen crickets or insect of choice.  Repcal Herptivite is an excellent vitamin on days you don't use calcium.

They would love a wide variety of insects.  Some, like silkworms, butterworms, and phoenix worms have enough calcium in them to not need supplementation.  They will also go for roach nymphs, grasshoppers, and hornworms.  Also, provide a few hanging dandelions, or collards in the tank, they will nibble.
