snakeskin i.d.?

I found a shedded snakeskin in my basement today.  Hello!

Is it possible to ID the snake from the photo?

I live in the Shenandoah Valley, in Virginia.

Hi John,

Do you have any more of the shed?

It's difficult with what's there to give a certain ID, but a big sign is the keeled scale, which right there excludes half of the possible snake species it could be.

If I were to choose, I'd say its a Northern Brownsnake, though I can't be certain.
