Question
I am just wondering about a lizard that we saw in Panama City Beach, FL.  It was dark brown but was sitting on a gray cinder block so I don't know if it changes colors.  What my dad was curious about was that it appeared to have a raised ridge (like a fin) down its whole back.  We've never seen anything like that.  Any ideas?

How large of a lizard was that you saw up there?  It could have been a fence lizard, possibly.  Here are a few pictures of eastern fence lizards.
