Question
i had my turtle for about 2 years now and is healthy but since i moved him indoors for the winter he stopped eating and stays burrowed under the sand all the time.water temp is about 75 but no basking light because he never leaves the sand box.any idea why thank you

Answer
Well, there are a number of possibilities, but whenever a reptile stops eating and becomes less active, your first thought should always be that something is wrong.  It's time for a vet checkup, and a fecal exam.

If the vet finds no health issues, and the fecal is negative, then perhaps the turtle's instincts to brumate have been triggered, and he's preparing to wait out the winter.  Raising the temperature slightly and making sure he has a 12 hour day/night cycle on a timer might snap him out of it.
