breeding leopard geckos and gene pools

I was wondering which was more important when breeding leopard geckos the male or female. If you are looking to breed for rare species and such.

Hello Dena,

Both sexes bring physical traits into the DNA mix.  If you are wanting a specialty breed, then you should try to get both the male & female as close to what type of breed that you want which will give you more of a chance of having the hatchlings turn out with the desirable traits.  
If you have one normal & one specialty your odds of getting traits of the desirable morph you want will decrease.
