Question
Oops! forgot one other question from the local vet.  Can uros show signs of resp. issues from vitamin A deficiencies like turtles can?  What can be done if this is possible?

Answer
Hello  Holly,

Also, let me know what the temps are reading once you get a digital thermometer, ok?  Measure directly under the basking spot, & a perimeter around it, then, measure the ambient temps, too.
Well, sometimes they can show respiratory symptoms from vitamin A deficiences.  If he has not been eating well & you are not supplementing vitamins then he might be missing a few things in his diet.  I recommend Repcal calcium & Herptivite.  The herptivite has beta carotene instead of synthetic vitamin A.  Synthetic vitamin A can cause toxicity in excess so try to use sources of beta carotene instead.
Are hid eyes swollen at all?
A blood panel would help determine blood levelsl of vitamina, or give you a better idea of what could be going on.
