Question
Hi, I recently purchased a long tailed grass lizard.  All was well for the first week, then, my lizard became listless and hasn't eaten in days.  Now I'm seeing red striations on her underside, around the upper part of her legs and her lower belly.  She had a hard time ingesting the last cricket, it was rather large, though I had asked for small ones.  Could this have caused some internal bleeding?  I feel awful that she's not going to make it and I'm continuing to let her suffer.  Please help me.  Thank you.

Answer
I dont think the cricket would have caused this. This doesn't sound like a parasite that I am familiar with either.  Honestly to me, it sounds more like some type of infection.  I am not a VET however so I would suggest taking it to a vet to have it properly examined so that there is a full work-up done and nothing gets missed.  Also with the listlessness you never mention the environment.  What are the temperatures and when do they vary and by how much.  In other words what are the night time drops and the daily highs, also what's the regular basking temperature.

Thanks
