I keep hearing mixed options on the ground english walnut shells as bedding i have two leos and one tokay all using the ground english walnut shells. One person says they are totally digestible. and another says it bad just like the CALCI SAND. so i want your option.

Hello Brittany.

I don't know if you picked me or were directed to my name by a computer, I am a snake specialist.  I do have a few geckos though and I keep mine (and all of my animals) on 100% hospital grade cotton white towels for a substrate.  This is not the norm and it is very time consuming because I have to change them rather often.  The advantage is, I see everything that goes on.  Mites, fleas, any type  of parasite etc.  Problems with droppings and other problems, blood and such.  As for walnut shells, and calcium sand, I would use neither but walnut shells are the better of the two.  I wish I could advise you better but they are a bit out of my line.
