Question
I've had my guinea pig for almost two months now. Today, however, she did something out of the norm. She was tilting her head the side a lot and instead of the high pitch squeal, she has been whimpering more like a dog. Should I be concerned? Do you think I should take her to the vet?

Answer
Hi Kristyn.  I think it would be very wise to take your guinea pig to the vet.  Usually a head tilt suggests an ear infection and to treat it you'll need strong prescription only medication.  Your piggy does sound to be in some discomfort and pain which would be horrible to leave unattended.

I hope this helps!
