Question
Hi there, me again!:) well we are now on day 70 i believe...day 63 from last breeding. still no action...temp is steady at 99 and she has resumed sleeping for the past 24 hours...definitely much less activity than usual but still no panting or obvious contractions... she has not ate much in the past 5 days, only scraps a she refuses her dog food. i have heard bathing can stress the dog enough to begin contractions, since she is definitely due im wondering if this is a good idea? or maybe a nice long jog would stimulate something...anything lol!! any ideas?? im waiting on another vet to call me back b/c the first one said to leave her be and really didnt give me any information...hmm how long do "phantom" pregnancy symptoms last if this is indeed whats wrong with her?

Answer
i wouldnt advise a bath or walk because even if shes in prelabor and you dont know it she could get stressed enough to completly stop and lead to complications. my female boxer had 6 ties and went the 66th day from last tie. she hadnt ate in about 8 days and rested most of the times. im taking a guess that maybe shes carrying a large litter. online it says they will go early with a large litter and this is so not true. all my females that have large litters go overdue. my best answer is to wait 2 more days and if nothing happens to go ahead and take her in to be checked out by a vet. if she doesnt seem stressed or straining then it will be fine to try to wait it out 2 more days. its like watching water boil and its hard to just sit back and wait! i dont know how many times i was almost ready to take a dog in because she was overdue only to wait it out and had pups the next day or so. i really hope this helps. keep me updated!

did she have them yet?
