I Think My Maltese is at the first stages of labor

My Maltese is on her 60th day. She whines a lot, like she is trying to tell me something. Her rectal temp. is 98.4 and she also has a clear, sticky discharge. She has had that for a couple of days. Ican still see and feel the puppies moving a lot. Do you think it will be much longer before she goes into labor? Do you think day 60 is too soon? Her last liter was born closer to day 64 or 65.

Hi Crystal. It sounds like labor should be starting soon. Maybe in a day or so. Day 60 is not too soon. They can deliver on day 58 with no problems. She may be having a larger litter this time, causing her to go into labor a little bit sooner. Good luck!
