Question on bring a female in heat

18 13:49:06

Question
I have a female who has been breed two times in her life and has produced very nice looking dogs. All her life she has only come into heat 1 time a year instead of every 6 months. I want to breed her this spring I was wondering if there is a shot or supplement I can give her to bring her into heat now or faster then she normally does. If so what is it called and where can you get it? Thanks

Answer
Hi Mike,

You could give her a hormone boast but the cost may be a factor.

The quickest way to bring a female into heat is full spectrum lighting.  You can pick it up at Wal-mart.  Turn the light on during the day.

Wolves come into heat once a year, typically in spring as the dark recedes and it stays lighter longer.

Also boasting her with Omega 3-6-9 and making sure she's not too lean or too overweight will help.

Good luck.
