Question
QUESTION: My partner and i are breeding our female staffie with a male staffie 5 doors down. They have been stuck together twice. The first time for 20 minutes and the second time(2 days later) for 35 minutes. Should we try mating them again and if so how many times or is twice enough?

ANSWER: Twice is usually enough. If you breed them too many times, then you may wind up with some premature puppies.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: The day after i got her stuck for the first time, i noticed she was still bleeding. I was told i should get them stuck when the discharge is clear. Should i regard the first time they  got stuck as a potentially successful endeavour

Answer
Well, most females bleeding will lighten in color and flow when they're at the right time of the cycle to be bred. Not every girl does that though. If she was standing for the male, and flagging, and was very cooperative, then I would think that you should count that breeding.
