stud dog cannot seem to lock

Question
I have a 2 year old golden retriever female that i am trying to breed for the first time. The stud is a 3 year old golden retriever who is a "first time" stud.  I have had the dogs together every other day since day 10 of her bleed.  Days 14, 15 and 17 were extremely active days.  The stud is relentless but they have not locked in.  He has definitely penetrated her as she has moaned then proceeded to clean herself and be aggressive back to him by trying to mount him.  Anyway, what are the chances she can become pregnant without "locking" in.
Sincerely,
Julie

Answer
None. There will be no pregnancy if the dogs do not achieve a tie.
Try helping him by laying her over your lap and raising or lowering her body as needed. Try encouraging him to move closer to her as well. Again,. if there is no tie., there will be no pups. It's simply not possible. This is frequently a problem when breeding two inexperienced dogs.
Good luck
