fertility after whelping

my great dane has 7 1/2 week old puppies which i separated from her about a week ago, males are now showing an interest in her. could she be fertile already. i havent seen any other signs, she is not showing receptive behaviour

Hi Debbie. I wouldn't think that she would go back into heat 4 months after the last one, but anything is possible. Watch her closely, and if she starts to bleed, or runs a temp, I'd take her to the vet for a check up to figure out what's going on with her. Also, sometimes an impacted anal glad will cause other dogs to be attracted to that dog, so you may want to have that checked out as well. Good luck.
