Question
Do you have any info on teeth grinding in a boxer.  She is 5 yers old and we have had her to Vet for dental exam.  She had one tooth extacted her gums were swollen.  the vet has prescribed medicine to take care of the swollen gums, and
a antibiotic, plus something to take of the stomach in case
the medicine irritates  it.   BUT it has been 3 1/2 days and she is still grinding her teeth.  I see other pet owners with the same problem on this site.  Have any of them come up with a definitive answer for this problem???

Answer
Hi Dorothy,

Something might be tightly stuck between your dog's teeth, or she may be having some oral pain. Boxers are prone to  gingival hyperplasia, where the gums start to grow over the teeth.

You should have your dog examined by your vet if the tooth grinding continues.

Best of luck,
Patti
