Dry Skin - 2 year old lab

Question
I have a yellow lab, for the past month I have been noticing that her coat was getting very wirey, not the soft smooth coat that I was use to.  Just random spots would appear that looked like dry spots, but if we played with her to hard the spots would start to bleed.  we bathed her in the oatmeal shampoo and bought a different bag of dog food, same make Nutro Lamb and rice, and I also hooked of the humidifer for her.  Her coat is nice and sliky again, it looks heathly again, but the dry spots have not gone, they don't bleed anymore but now she is getting ichey.  I cancelled my vet appointment because she was getting better, should I wait it out a little bit more or make another vet appointment.

Answer
This is probably some type of air borne allergy, such as a dust allergy ect In dogs most allergies come up as itchy skin instead of sneezing like in people

Also with the heat being this time of year that also tends to dry out the coat, and can make the fur dry as well,so having a humidifier will help

Oatmeal shampoo is great for clearing up dry skin so stick to that

so for now,I would save myself the money and keep doing what you are doing-if it comes back you might want to have her looked at,but for now she is fine
