Question

Alfie
All of a sudden my 4 year old dog does not want to leave the living room, kitchen etc. It is as if he sees something, or feels a barrier and he simply cannot cross the threshold. When he does exit the room, it is all in a rush as if he needs lots of courage to do it. The flooring is unchanged and I simply see no reasson for this new behavoiur.

Answer
Hi Douglas, Poor Alfie!  Well, something has chanced as far as he is concerned.  Wish he could tell us what is wrong???  If he is getting older some dogs do get organic brain syndrome.  It's the brain slowing down and playing tricks on them.   Also, he could have slipped and remembers falling over the threshold and pain occuring?
I am just taking some wild guesses.

It wouldn't hurt to have a VET do some blood work on Alfie.  Something may be out of balance and he may need some Medical attention.

Sorry, Wish I could help you more.
Looks like a Good looking dog!  Thanks for the great photo.
