begging

My 7 year old german shepherd/lab/greyhound was about 20 pounds overweight when I took her for a checkup in May.  My vet told me to replace half of her dog food with green beans to help her lose weight.  It's working, and she's already lost 7 pounds, but now she's begging a lot more.  She follows me everywhere and won't stop whining if I have food.  How can I get her to stop begging?

Simple. Put her in another room when food is around. I start this with all my dogs early on, usually by the end of the first week of doing this the dogs go into another room by themselves. You shouldn't ever give in, If you do it will be much harder to cure as she will try again and again hoping for the same result.

When you have finished eating, go get her, praise and reward her with a healthy treat.
