Male vs Female Lab puppy

We are considering the addition of a lab puppy to our household.  We also have several cats. Would gender make any difference in socializing the puppy to non-canine pets? is it easier to house break either gender? Thanks for your help!

Females are generally calmer,as well as less territorial than males though it's not always a huge difference. Generally if raised with cats a puppy of either gender will be perfect-though as I said females are calmer and less likely to annoy the cats. but in the long run it will not be a huge difference,though as far as housetraining goes females are a lot easier as they do not mark and can hold in longer. so leaning towards a female would probably be better for you
