we would like to get a companion for our love of our life. is it best to keep her an only child or to get her a friend?

Well it all depends,you should ask yourself some questions like,how is she with other dogs? Also how active is she? Do you want a dog that is too active,or too calm for her,it would be best to a dog with the same energy level-and also around the same age and size

A good place to look would be the local shelter,as some of those dogs may have been tested with other dogs

Two dogs are good,as they keep each other company when you are away ect But for a while separate them from each other
