No Action with my Lab

Question
I have a 2 year old Lab.  This is the fourth time she goes into heat but does not let the male Lab get close to her.  They have gotten into some serious fights but never lets herself.  They are both the same age and I've had them since they were puppies.  What should I do?

Answer
I have had at least one bitch who refused to be bred her entire breeding life, and another who wanted to "pick" her own mate. (The first male ignored her as if she wasn't in season, the second she tried to kill, and the third she solicited, and was bred by... all within the same hour.)

You need to either try a different male, or have progesterone tests run by your vet to determine when she is ovulating and then artificially inseminate her.
