housebreaking puppy

My shih-tzu(male) puppy knows to pee and poop outside, he goes everytime we are out side. He even knows to cry by the door when he has to poop. he is rewarded everytime.but many times he will come in from outside adn within 5 minutes go pee on the carpet.....any suggestions?

It sounds like you're just letting him out in the yard to do his business, and then letting him in a few minutes later. I would recommend that you take him out to potty on leash, so you can praise him for pottying out there, and also be assured that he HAS actually gone. When he comes back in and pees, he probably got sidetracked while he was out there and 'forgot' he needed to go until he got back inside.
