2 month old Chihuahua

I got the chihuahua last Saturday...now a week and a day later she is growling when we pick her up and put her to our face to kiss.  I have a 1 and 1/2 year old male I got neutered last Thursday and she got a distemper shot then as well. They fight   but she seems to like him but is taking to growling at us and not wanting to be picked up and kissed. He tries to mount her but we try to stop him when we catch him. He doesn't seem to know what hes doing though.

She sounds like she is having a bit of trouble transitioning. It may be all too much too soon. Growling is a warning, you want that warning in place so do not correct her for doing it.

She is very young and impressionable now and maybe a bit over reactive as she is in that 7-11 week sensitive phase of her development. Stay out of her face for now, let her adjust to her surroundings a bit more and yes you are doing it correctly with the other dog, just interrupt the behavior and replace it with a more desireable one.
