my dog has a old scab

Miss Becky,
My 25 month year old Pomeranian PRINCESS!!! Had a tick on the back of her neck. It already developed a blood bubble felt as if i no choice , but to pop it and take the dead tick of. So now she has a bumpy scab. I just wanted to know if that's normal and ok. Oh and if she has an other bad tick with a blood bubble, how can i take care of it better.Because I herd that its bad to have popped the blood bubble.So thats it please get back to me.

The scab will come off in time once the area under it heals up. In the future, smother the tick with Vaseline or liquid hand soap. Be sure you get the soap or Vaseline all over the critter so that it suffocates and it should come off easily after a few minutes.

During tick season, be sure to run your hands all over the dog each day to try to find the ticks before they get too engorged as they can pass along various unpleasant diseases. You might also want to put something like Frontline on her to kill the ticks.
