Question

raven   I have a 5 month old Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix that's 5lbs exactly. She wasn't growing much but just hit a growth spurt. She's my first rescue and small dog so I'm not sure but how big will she likely be full grown. She had small features. Thanks.

Ultimate size depends on the genetics behind the dog, and this can vary from dog to dog, even in a particular breed. In my breed, some dogs have their full height by around six months of age, while others, like mine, continue to grow slowly for about 18 mos. or more.

If you can still feel "knobby knees" in her carpal joints in the front legs, she should grow a bit more. Those joints flatten out once the dog matures.
