Answer

Hi Singh,

Do not yell at, punish, or hit your dog for this behavior. (You should never hit your dog FOR ANY REASON!) Not wanting to eat over a period of time means there is a potential medical problem. You need to have your dog examined by a veterinarian. This is especially important to do if the finicky eating has developed suddenly, if your dog is vomiting and/or has diarrhea, or if your dog is showing signs of weight loss.

A healthy dog will not starve itself. Only after being cleared of a medical condition should you look at other reasons for your dog's refusal to eat.

You didn't say what you normally feed your dog. Many times a dog that's fed a variety of different foods, develops preferences for food, and it will "hold out" until the food it wants is given. If this sounds like the scenario for your dog's unwillingness to eat, you should know that providing the food choices you have actually trained your dog to be a finicky eater.
