Question
yes my one year old snoodle is peeing everywhere and anywhere. she is house trained and does very well but she pees when i come home, when i get up in the mornings when i leave the room and she follows me she is steadily leaving a trail behind her she gets it all in her coat on her legs i have read tons of articles on this subject i ignore her and i try not to make eye contact with her and i try to get down to her level to reduce her excitement but nothing has worked for instance when she hears me come in the house or even get out of the bed she pees all in her crate even when i ignore her for ten minutes then try to let her out of her crate she will just start peeing even as i am opening the door i am at my wits end i have to bathe her and clean her crate daily sometimes several times a day i need help!!

Answer

Hi Jackie,

It would have been a help when writing, if you were to use punctuation.

Does your dog ever pee when you're at home, or does this only happen when you first return home, after she's been alone for a period of time?

Until your dog is over this problem (I can't tell from your message if this is submissive or over-excitement peeing) it might be best not to crate your dog. Instead, either contain her to a small room with either child-gates, or an indoor dog pen (such as this: http://www.petptt.com/uploads/allimg/11/1-11062R30Z40-L.jpg ). Lay a thick layer of newspaper down over the entire containment area so clean ups will be easier, and your dog won't have to lay in her pee.

Having read about the problem and possible solutions online, and haven't yet been able to control the problem, you should now contact a dog behaviorist, who can evaluate your dog, and help you to gain control of this problem. Contact your vet's office, local animal shelter or local boarding kennels to get a referral to a dog behaviorist in your area. You may also find one here:
