Will my lab get along with a small dog?

Ya the bed idea would work pretty good.
A puppy should have around 4 toys, but they shoudn't be hard. Get him small treats, and 1 small artificial bone, and 2 or 3 toys that aren't made of hard plastic, like a ball made out of cloth. You can also make some toys like getting a rope and tying a treat to the end of the rope and hanging it. Make sure that his toys can't be torn and that your dog won't be able to eat clothing so he won't suffocate. You can hide treats around the house so he'll spend time looking for them.
When you leave the house and you don't want your dogs generally to get diruptive buy toys and give them to the dogs ONLY when you leave the house, and then take the toys back ater you come back, so the toys will always be "new."
Usually puppies dont walk outside, my first dog didn't walk outside untill he was about 4 maybe 5 months. My dog has a collar with a pet ID so if she runs away they'll contact me, also a flea collar. I walk her using a harness, but your puppy won't walk so get him the harness when he is 6 months old(full grown).
Again its very important to get a dog ID espicially when he is young and new to his house. The ID should include his name and your phone number. If the dog spends a lot of time outside the house and may get ticks or fleas get him a puppy flea collar, not a full grown flea collar.
If you need any more information please send me.
Good luck...

Hello again and thanks for your help,

Well I will be getting a male unless they only have females then I'll be getting a female lol, several people have several female dogs that get along just great but others have problems so I'm going to try and get a male... my first male dog :D. I looked around at pictures today and the jack russel puppys(aged 6/8 weeks)are about the size a shiztuz pup  of 8/10 weeks.... so fairly tiy... about three times smaller then a 8 week old lab pup... anyways.... My lab doesn't really have many toys as sheand the golden/lab cross ripped nearly every toy they had to shreds lol. I like the nayla bones made for puppys and the kongs the best as they can't be chewed up... thou the ones we had disapered... probaly went outside with them,

O.k so here's my shopping list....

Pariuna puppy chow

Five toys

A small bed

A set of small water bowls

Leash, collar and harness and name tag.... do I need anything else? Thank you for your help in advance.

Answer
Yes, try looking for a puppy flea collar and some training treats, the ones that they eat in 1 minute. Get the harness when the puppy is full grown since he won't be wakling outside when he is young.
Watch out that your puppy doesn't chew wires, maybe you'll have to have them covered.
I think that's it.
Good Luck...
