Yorkie doesnt get along with puppy

Question
Help! We have a 5-year-old Yorkie (girl) who weighs 5 pounds and a docile 5-year-old Golden Retreiver (girl) who weighs about 70. We lost another Golden (boy)last year and just got a new Golden puppy (boy). The Goldens and Yorkie were not raised together, but once our families were combined, they got on swell. At first I was worried about the size difference, but there was never a serious problem. But now the Yorkie hates the puppy's guts. The Yorkie yipes and bites at the puppy constantly, even when the puppy is paying no mind to the Yorkie. The Yorkie will get up from a nap just to attack the puppy who is chewing on himself or playing with a toy. The puppy thinks the Yorkie is playing and doesn't realize he is being attacked and tries to play with the Yorkie. But the puppy is so much bigger than the Yorkie, I'm afraid the Yorkie is going to get hurt. The puppy is 4 months old and weighs 32 pounds. When the Yorkie is yiping and biting, which is nearly always, I put the Yorkie in a pin. She quits yiping, but cries because she's pinned up. Trading one annoyance for another. How can I teach the Yorkie to quit yiping and biting at the puppy? Do I want to for her own safety?

Answer
Dogs play rough all the time, useually no one is hurt, but your yorkie really seems to dislike this pup.  I would feed them near each other, while you are sittng with the pup call the yorkie over, if she is calm reward her. If she starts nipping or causing trouble, put her in another room alone for a time out.  Bring her out and repeat. You need to be consistent.
