If I get my female cockapoo fixed or let her breed will either of these things help with her temperament?

Hi Joan,

Thank you for writing to me about your cockapoo.  I strongly urge you to spay your dog.  You don't mention what the problem is with her temperment so pleaes send another question so I can help you with that.

The reasons for spaying are many...it greatly reduces the incident of cancer which increases drastically with each heat.  It prevents the muss and fuss of her being in heat.  There are so many reasons to spay her.  Her temperment is a totally different story.

Breeding your dog will only add to the problem of over population.  For every puppy born there is one less home for a dog on death row.
