SEVERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT BREEDING AND THE WAY MY PUGS ARE ACTING?

Question
HELLO THERE, I HAVE A 2 AND HALF YEAR OLD MALE PUG AND JUST JUST RECENTLEY TOOK IN A FEMALE PUG APROX 3YEARS OLD. BOTH ARE NOT NEUTERED/SPAYED. WE ARE INTERESTED IN BREEDING FOR MY ADDITIONAL FAMILY MEMBERS TO HAVE. MY QUESTION IS THAT THEY BOTH SEEM TO PLAY TOGETHER BUT MY MALE DOG LIKES TO SNIFF HER PRIVATE PARTS ALOT, AND SHE WILL NOT LET HIM BUT WILL GET BEHIND MY MALE PUG AND SHE WOULD DO WHAT THE MALE PUG IS SUPPOSE TO DO BY HUMPING MY MALE PUG. SHE HASNT HAD HER PERIOD YET, I WAS TOLD SHE WILL BE IN HEAT IN FALL AROUND OCTOBER. THEY DO GET ALONG TOGETHER BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW IS THIS NORMAL FOR FEMALE PUG TO DO. IS THIS LIKE A COURTSHIP KIND OF DEAL. AND WHEN I GETS IN HEAT WHEN IS IT THE BEST TIME FOR MY PUG TO BREED WITH MY FEMALE. THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS

Answer
Hi, a lot of female pugs develop dominate behavior like that and it should subside once she comes in heat.  A dog's heat cycle breaks done into 3 segments basically. The 1st 7-10 days, they tend to bleed heavier and will not accept a male, the 2nd 7-10 day segment their vulva will swell and they will be willing to accept a male. The last segment also will last approx. 7-10 days and they will be going out of heat and not accept a male.
You should breed her three times, during the second segment of her cycle, on an every other day basis, so that the male doesn't get too tired and you can control the breeding.  Hope this helps,
