My rotti is nearly 3 years old and someone wants to breed with him. We are considering it as he has a loverly personality although i am just concerned as to whether it would change him in any way, for example make him aggressive?

No, breeding your dog would not change him in any way, aggression included.

The most responsible thing of course, given the over population of unwanted pets in shelters, would be to neuter your dog. Neutering won't change your dog's personality either, and there are health benefits to it as well.
