Question
I have a 7 month old siberian husky puppy,I have had her since she was ten weeks old and I have just fallen in love with her,the only thing is though she eats everything. She has eaten in the past two months two collars, two leashes, every toy we have ever bought her, clothes, shoes, books, and just recently the tray to her crate. She gets put in her crate when we leave and at night when I'm sleeping.During those times she will pull laundry into her crate and actually eat it.I keep everything away from her but somehow she manages to get it.About a week ago she started shred her tray. Now tonight she offcially demolished it.She has a dominence problem with our 12 year old  miniature Schnauzer, but she is fine with our cat(both we have had before she joined us).We got a kitten five days ago, now she is eating the cat food and feces. She never did that before. She is fed Iams puppy food, she stays inside, she has plenty of playtime, too many toys to count.I have had dogs all my life and none of them have acted this way.I've had her since August and just now got her housebroken.I knew that huskies were hard headed dogs when I got her but I didn't know it would be like this.I don't want to get rid of her.I had to get rid of my golden retriever that I had had since I was nine because my grandfather had a stroke and was unable to live alone and that was aweful.I want to have a happy, healthy dog that doesn't have random things in her belly!

Answer
I would recommend that you get one of the plastic airline style crates with the metal door. There is no tray for her to shred, but you may want to spend the little bit of extra money to get the kind with the wire on the sides instead of just holes, because she may chew the holes. Has she been spayed yet? I'd recommend that you have her spayed, which *may* help some with her dominance. Does your schnauzer try to correct or discipline her at all? Could you explain why you think she has dominance issues with the older dog?

Keep the cat food and litterbox out of reach so she cannot get to it to eat it. Eating the cats' feces is not harmful, but ingesting the litter could be.

I would recommend that you keep her confined to the room you are in when you're home, or tether her to you on a 6 foot leash so she cannot run amok. I would also recommend obedience and/or agility classes. Agility is an excellent outlet for energy if you have the time and money. She is still a puppy, and her behaviors are normal, but she needs to learn some manners.
