Lovesick Dog

My morkie recently fell in love w/ another yorkie in my neighborhood. I say fell in love because when we go walking he immediately goes to her apartment door and will not move. I have to pick him up and take him home. He has been eating less and recently started howling. What can I do? I feel helpless hearing him howl and whine.

It sounds to me like maybe she has come into season and Morkie smells that; it certainly sounds like he has all the symptoms of a frustrated intact male with an in-season bitch in the neighborhood. If he is intact, you might want to consider getting him neutered to end his frustrations; they will only get worse.

Dogs don't really "fall in love", but they certainly can have friends. You might try contacting the yorkie's owner and see if he/she is interested in walking with the two of you.
