Question
hello!
sir i very much like strong dogs like doberman.and i am looking forward to adopt one.But the problem is that i will be hardly able to give him 3hrs a day(which walking and running) due to study.this time table will only remain till six months then after i'll be free.during that six moths i'll able to give indoor exercise.will this behaviour affect the dog.after that i can give him heavy exercise.

suppose if my family wants to go out for a vacation and we can't take the doberman then what to do at that situation

in future if i get less time for dog due to job then will he remain that loveable and loyal?

will this be fare for the dog?

Answer
A person should not have a dog unless he can devote more time than three hours a day to the dog. This does not mean constant attention, but dogs are pack animals, and like to be WITH us, not left alone by themselves. They  need interaction with someone for a time during the day, even if it is another dog.

No dog requires heavy exercise, and walking two miles (3+km) a day is sufficient for most (larger dogs would prefer a bit more). A dog can also learn to trot on a treadmill if one cannot get outside to walk due to bad weather. This type of exercise should not be started until the dog is about 18 months old... or more mature, as too much exercise at too young an age can break a dog down. Larger dogs take longer to mature than smaller dogs. Another good form of exercise is teaching a dog to run upstairs on command as that will help to build up their rear.

If a situation arises where the dog cannot be with the family, one should put him in a boarding kennel or find a friend or family member who can take care of him.
