QuestionI have a 5 month old male Yo-Chon puppy (Yorkie-Bichon Friese mix). The question I had was, when should I be feeding him? right now I feed him at 7am, 12pm, and 7pm. He very rarely eats at 7am, but I really want to get him down to eating at 7am and 7pm, just twice daily.
I also have another dilemma...He's been doing really good with potty training, but when I'm at work and he's in his crate, he will pee in there in the afternoon. I take him out right before I leave in the morning; I take him out when I get home for lunch at noon (Mind you, he does not pee in his crate during this 4 hour span), and again before I leave to go back to work(12:45ish). When I return home at 5:10pm, I find that he's peed in his crate. What are some tips to alleviate this problem? Am I giving him too much water? Should he have access to water all the time when I'm home? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Answer I think you can start phasing the mid day meal out. Just make it a little smaller and the other 2 larger each day for a week until it is all gone.
Eliminating it may help the afternoon wetting. Go ahead and limit the water at lunch time. I am not sure perhaps a 1/4 cup or less. Try to get in as much of a walk as you can just before leaving. It will stimulate the body to urinated before being crated.
