Question
I have a min. dauchshund that is 3 yrs. old.  i had him neutered young.  HE still hikes his legs.  I read where this would deter them from doing this.  I have tried and tried and tried to house break him.  He is truly the most stuboorn 'baby' I have ever seen.  suggestions?

Answer
Unfortunatly even neauturing some males doesn't not stop marking or even reduce it

The best way is with a crate and the way to do that is to keep him in there all the time, except to take him outside,to feed him,to play with him,to take him on walks ect And do this for about three weeks, then slowly let him out more, but if another accident happens back in the crate he goes for another week

Now another method you can do is to either keep him in one room or put him in a gate, and put down either papers or puppy pads and when it looks like he might go,put him on the pads/paper and praise her,and start to move the papers/pads closer to the door and that often moves them outside as well

You can pick either method although the crate seems to work faster
