chihuahua won`t eat anything but table scraps

Question
My 2 year old female chichuahua will not eat anything but table scraps.  I have read that chihuahuas do not need to let their blood sugar drop to low. That is why I always end up feeding her something from the table.  She will wait and wait even though her stomache is growling.

Hi Laverne. This is a mistake that many dogs owners make. Now your dog knows that she has you trained & if she waits long enough, you'll feed her something. I assure you, no dog will starve itself. Just give her dry dog food ONLY. Try to stay away from canned food since little dogs get nasty teeth quicker that big dogs do. Try putting some water in her food & heating it up a little in the microwave. Just pour some water off after you heat it up & this will make a little "gravy". You can also try a LITTLE garlic powder on the food & stir it in. (I have to do this with my great dane a lot & she loves it.) But stop the tablet scraps cold turkey. You just have to make her learn & trust me... She'll eat when she's hungry.=)
