Question
How do we get our dog to slow down when he is eating.  It's gone in a minute.

Answer
Hi Tonya;
Some dogs just do bolt their food.
I don't know how you could get them to slow down, other than to hand feed him.
That might work, if you feed just a good bite at a time, from your hand.
He would probably swallow it in one gulp, but you could space out the time between bites.
I find a lot of the rescue dogs I foster tend to bolt their food,and try to eat enough for a week, in one feeding.
They usually slow down a little after a couple of weeks, when they see there is going to be more where that came from.
I have only had one or two of my own dogs that bolted food, and hand feeding them seemed to slow them down a bit.
