Question
I noticed my schnauzer was limping and when I checked her rear paw I saw her nail is in her pad. I can not get the clippers in because she flinches. Should I soak her paw, call the vet or will it die and fall off? Help I have searched all over the net and can not find help.

Answer
Hi Tanya!
You really need to take her to the Vet to have her nails cut.  I doubt she is going to let you do it, and at this point, there may be infection.  Her nails need to be cut on a regular basis and if she won't let you, then the Vet or groomer can do it.  Right now, since her nail has grown into her pad, it is very painful for her. The best thing you can do is get her in as soon as you can to have the nails clipped and the paw checked out.

God bless,
Becky
