Question
I have a small dog she weights 7lb and she has very dry itchy skin and dandruf, do you have any relief suggestions

Answer
Hi Christina;
First you need to have a Veterinarian diagnose the problem and it's cause.
Dry, itchy skin can be because of allergies, diet, and/or too frequent bathing. too harsh a shampoo can also cause this.A lot of people think they are supposed to bathe their pets a lot to keep them clean.
Frequent bathing is very bad for their skin. A daily brushing, and a bath once a month, twice at most.
When mine get into mud, and HAVE to be washed, I rinse them with just water, not shampoo.
Our pets are suffering more from allergies.
We have messed up ur atmosphere so badly that even the animals are suffering.
Tow of the dogs I have now are allergic to a lot of things that fly in the air. Pollen, and the polution that blows in on us from Dallas.
Poor babies have to have special, prescription shampoo to be bathed with, and often have to go on anti-biotics to get rid of the infections they can get from the allergies.
Fleas are another bad source of allergins for animals.
That is why I advise seeing her Veterinarian.
It could be any of these things, and if you don't find out what the source of the dry skin is, you will just waste a lot of time in experimenting, and a lot of money on products, and the poor baby will still be suffering all that time.
