Question
Hello
I AM JUST CONCERNED FOR MY PUPPY I JUST OPEN A BAG OF HIS DOG FOOD AND I THOUGHT I PUT IT IN A SAFE SPOT. WELL EVIDENTLY NOT HE GOT INTO IT AND I THINK I CAUGHT HIM RATHER QUICKLY HOWEVER, HIS STOMACH IS BLOATED AND KIND OF HARD. SEE HE DOES NOT CHEW HIS FOOD SO I AM SURE THAT IT IS IN HIS STOMACH WHOLE. I GAVE HIM SOME PUMPKIN. I DO NOT NO WHAT ELSE TO DO OTHER THAN MAKE SURE HE IS DRINKING WATER. HE HAS NOT YET VOMITED OR HAD A BOWEL MOVEMENT. I AM EXTREMELY NERVOUS HOWEVER, BECAUSE HE GOT INTO MY MOTHER'S DOG'S FOOD BOWL ONCE BEFORE AND IT RESULTED IN AN ENEMA AND A $600 VET BILL. PLEASE ANYTHING WOULD HELP! THANKS!

Answer
Good Evening Cassandra;
It is very important that you take your Puppy to the Vet!
Time is of the essence.
A young dog especially has less capacity than an older dog, as it is just developing it's intestinal tract!
I don't want to scare you, but, "Overeating" can lead to "Bloat" and or "Torsion" or Tearing of the lower intestine...so, you need to go asap! If you have not seen a Bowel movement, or it has not thrown up, it is not a good thing.
I know you are concerned over the Cost of going to a Vet, but, Please "Believe Me" when I say, it is imperative that you go!!!

Best regards,
Melissa
