Hi, I was reading up on the largest breed of dog and I ran across a question asked by a miss Jessica about her friend's dog's breed. She said it was large, spotted, looked like a mastiff but wasn't, had short hair and was super calm. Hi Lyzz,

Whn you ask about the largest breed of dog, you need to take into account weight or height. While the Irish Wolfhound and the Great Dane typically the tallest breeds, the English Mastiff and the Saint Bernard are generally considered the heaviest breeds.

The brindle color of the Presa Canario in the picture you provided, also occurs in Mastiffs and Great Danes.
